Case Studies
Jam Brook Farm Visual Identity & Website Design
Jam Brook Farm is a growing homestead in Searsmont, Maine, with three farm stay options and lots of nooks and crannies to explore, including a vegetable garden, flowers, berries, and chickens.
The Brief
Sara Beth and Daniel of Jam Brook Farm were looking to elevate their small homestead lodging business through a fresh branding package (helping them solidify their business name) & a lodging site of their own, to help streamline the booking management process, and put full control in their hands, versus a third-party booking site like Airbnb.
The Solution
Lowther Press worked closely with the husband/wife team to develop a branding package that exemplified their values and aesthetics. This included being friendly and welcoming, gracious but simple, and overflowing with the generosity of abundance that Sara Beth and Daniel provide for their guests. A hand-lettered and illustrative logo with a bright palette fit these needs perfectly. In addition to the logo, a set of icons and secondary logos were created for use across all brand touchpoints. Following these same principles of inspiration, a booking website was created. The site compliments the visual identity while also maintaining optimal functionality, integrating the couple’s Airbnb and Hipcamp accounts and providing their own booking portal as well.
Telegraph Bee Co. Website Design
Telegraph Bee Co. is a small batch honey and beeswax candle producer who’s beehives dot the wild and urban landscapes of the Wasatch Mountain range of central Utah.
The Brief
Christa and Kelsey of Telegraph Bee Co. recently moved from the San Francisco Bay Area where their business was founded, to Christa’s childhood home of Park City, Utah. Bringing the business with them. They decided their new location called for a refreshed logo and branding package, which was provided for them by the talented Emma Young of ENY Printed Works. With a fresh look in hand, all they were missing was a way to get it out into the world for people to see and love.
The Solution
Lowther Press was happy to take on the project of creating a much needed web presence for Telegraph Bee Co. Inspired by the colors and textures used in the new branding package, we were able to create a site that meshed seamlessly into the company’s new look, and provided all the capabilities they required, including e-commerce, customer email lists, and a place for interested parties to acquire more information about the amazing services offered by Telegraph Bee Co., including apprenticeships and workshops. We were also able to add some fun extras to the site, including a honey bee cursor and the inclusion of the block printed mountain illustration created by Emma Young.
Studio Humelim Visual Identity
Studio Humelim is a small planting design practice based in Brooklyn, NY. At Humelim, they produce native-centered plantings that artfully create habitat for NYC’s local fauna.
The Brief
Studio Humelim came to us looking for a visual identity package for a refreshed business. After having lived and done business in Massachusetts, they were returning to Brooklyn with a new name, and a new focus for the business. They needed an identity that would harmonize with their new business model of simple, native planting designs for modern urban gardens. They were looking for a logo, letterhead, title block, and graphics for a new website.
The Solution
We worked closely with Studio Humelim owner and planting designer Laura to craft her perfect vision for the logo, which included an Art Deco style san serif typeface. The brand mark of simple overlapping circles convey the changing of the seasons, and the cycles of growth inherent in the plant world. Utilizing the same palette and stroke quality, we created a set of graphics to be used on Studio Humelim’s website. These images are born out of blind contour sketches of some of Laura’s favorite native plant species. Laura wanted the graphics to maintain a certain abstractness, which the blind contour technique lent itself very well to.

The Brief

The Solution

We were able to create a beautiful, simple website for CocoJo that matches their personality, and provides all the functionality needed to help their business grow and succeed.
